Yoga Teacher

If you feel that managing time, expectations, commitments and daily challenges brings you to your limits… congratulations, you live truly!

My approach to yoga seeks to provide an opportunity to pause from pressure and tension. It is a point of self-care and evolution.

“Yoga doesn’t just change the way we see things, it changes the person who sees it.”

Coordinated volunteering programs & activities at local orphanage by Eleanna

“My name is Eleanna and for the past 20 years, I have been working with children as a Montessori teacher and family-kids instructor. Morocco has felt like home to me since I was a little girl. For the last 6 years, especially during wintertime, I have been actively involved in a project in Marocco, specifically for children there, which I built completely voluntarily and with much love.

In the beginning, I engaged myself with homeless children, while being hosted in a mosque. I learned about their needs, we painted together, laughed, ate (as sharing food is very important in their culture) and shared the little joys of life with them. I then started organizing my creative and always educational visits to a local orphanage for boys aged 6 to 14 years old. These are children who either have no parents or have been given there for various reasons, such as financial, psychological or health problems at home.

I spend 2 to 3 days per week with them. In the afternoons we usually paint with watercolors and brushes, do crafts with cardboard, scissors, ribbons and stickers, and play music. In the yard, we play interactive group games and practice some yoga, stretching and breathing exercises. Cheerful children’s voices fill the air. Witnessing their happiness is incredibly meaningful to me! My work is supported by contributions from friends and clients, a group of foreigners who live there and sometimes by volunteers. The children are 65 in total, and I work with 26 of them. The older children help me as well.

Gradually, as they trusted me and our bonds grew stronger, we decided to take walks on Sundays around the village, enjoying ice cream or popcorn. We walk in public places crossing streets and so we interact with other people. At the same time, we learn some rules and everyday life manners. So, I invite each and every one of you to share these moments with us and offer our love wholeheartedly to those children.

I know that they are greatly anticipating my going back, to hug them, to learn new things together and play. You are very welcome to share these moments with us.

Thank you on behalf of the children.

“We are eagerly waiting for you!”
